UltraViolet English – Terms of Business 

 

1. Services Offered

 

The services are offered by ULTRAVIOLET ENGLISH LIMITED (a company incorporated in England and Wales with company number 12711834) (UltraViolet English).

 

This document represents the Terms of Business upon which UltraViolet English provides its services.

 

UltraViolet English enables its clients to achieve enhanced use and understanding of the English language through a range of support services. Current services include:

 

  • flexible one-to-one live online coaching in advanced English and pronunciation; and

 

  • a five-week online remote pronunciation course with two engagement sessions.

 

 All services are delivered remotely via video conferencing platforms such as Zoom.

 

In addition, UltraViolet English offers:

 

  • a 25 min free discovery call (one session per student); and

 

  • regular Zoom group classes.

 

 

 3. Booking and Payment

 

Fees for all sessions and courses must be paid in full at least 24 hours before the session or course commencement. Payments can be made via bank transfer or Paypal.

 

4. Expiry of Services

 

All purchased services (individual coaching sessions, packages, or courses) must be used within 12 months from the date of purchase. Unused services will automatically expire after 12 months and are non-refundable.

 

5. Intellectual Property

 

All course materials, lesson content, and recordings (if provided) are the property of UltraViolet English or are used under permission from the owner. Materials are protected, including by copyright, and may not be shared, copied, reproduced, or distributed without the express written permission of UltraViolet English. 

 

Classes may not be recorded and unauthorised recording would be in breach of data rights.

 

6. Limitation of Liability

 

You agree to use the services at your own risk. UltraViolet English is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our services.

 

You agree to hold UltraViolet English and its officers, employees and contractors harmless from any breach of these Terms of Business by you.

 

7. Changes to these Terms of Business

 

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Business at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Business, including any update.

 

8. Cancellation and Refund Policy

 Provided that you have not received the relevant paid-for service from us a full refund for the five-week course is available in accordance with your rights under The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (SI 2000/2334) (as amended).

 

We understand that schedules can change. We seek to honour all scheduled appointments, but unexpected things can happen to us all. If we need to reschedule an appointment, we will seek to reschedule it promptly with you. In relation to your need to reschedule, please review our cancellation and refund policies below. 

 

25 min Discovery Call 

 

  • One per student.

  • Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 12 hours in advance.

  • If missed or cancelled with less than 12 hours' notice, session must be paid for.

  • Advice of cancellation or rescheduling received after 8.00pm (London time) shall be deemed to have been received at 8.00am on the next working day.

 

1:1 Coaching Sessions

 

  • Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 12 hours in advance.

  • If missed or cancelled with less than 12 hours' notice, session must be paid for and cannot be rescheduled.

  • Missed sessions without notice are forfeit.

  • Advice of cancellation or rescheduling received after 8.00pm (London time) shall be deemed to have been received at 8.00am on the next working day.

 

Pronunciation Course

 

  • Once purchased, the course must be completed within 12 months. 

  • You can reschedule the start of your course date up to 48 hours before the scheduled start (time of first accent analysis).

  • All sessions must be completed during the scheduled course time frame (you may postpone up to 3 weeks), unless otherwise arranged.

 

9. Privacy Policy 

 

We collect only the information needed to deliver our services — like your name, email, and payment details. Your data is stored securely, never sold, and only shared when and to the extent required to process payments or comply with the law. You can request to see or delete your data at any time by contacting us at ultravioletenglish@gmail.com. 

  

In particular, we are obliged to comply with all relevant data protection rules, including the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and any other data protection legislation to the extent that at any time these are in force and applicable to us (together, "Data Protection Laws").

 

You acknowledge our processing of the personal data that you provide to us and/or that we collect, receive or otherwise process in connection with the provision of services to you in accordance with these Terms of Business and to fulfil the other purposes set out in our Privacy Notice[1]. For the purposes of the Data Protection Laws, we will be a controller of your personal data.

 

Our processing of your personal data is subject to your instructions as our client and our duty of confidentiality to you as well as our discretion as controller and our legal obligations under the Data Protection Laws and other applicable laws.

 

 

Details of the Pronunciation Course 

Step 1: Free 25 min Consultation

 

To see if the course and teacher is right for you.

 

Step 2:  50 min Accent Analysis 

 

To identify areas for improvement and focus, start some basic training and receive recommendations to get the most out of the course.

 

Step 3: Five Steps to Better English

 

You receive a five-step program outline setting out the specific areas for focus, reflective of your situation and goals. This will include an overview of each identified topic for focus.

 

Step 4: Weekly Pronunciation Focus (five weeks)

 

Every Monday (for five weeks) you will be sent topic, materials and exercises for the week ahead. We can discuss how much time you can commit each week, and you will receive the appropriate amount of material.  You can decide when and how you do this based on your schedule. The topics will be a mixture of sounds, stress and intonation based on your accent analysis and your goals. You will receive feedback on any homework, voice recordings or questions within 48 hours throughout the week.

 

Step 5: Final 50 min Call – Improvement Check in and Next Steps

 

After five weeks of work, you will have another 50 min in-person online session to check in with your progress and answer any questions you may have. We will go over next steps and recommendations.

 

Materials Include

 

  • Targeted Videos

  • Personalised written and audio explanations

  • Diagrams of mouth positions and other visual guides

  • Structured homework to practice (including drills, minimal pairs and tongue twisters, etc)

  • Ability to send me voice notes & questions over WhatsApp

  • Recommendations and next steps

 

 Additional Information

 

  • You will have access to the videos for 6 months after the end of your course and retain lifetime access to the materials and exercises.

  • We appreciate that you can get busy and unexpected things arise so you can reschedule up to 3 weeks during the course if you get busy, illness, etc.

  • Additional 1:1 lessons can be purchased at any time.
