Hi! I’m Violet. I am a native English speaker and certified tutor specialising in advanced English and pronunciation/accent work. I am qualified to teach English as a foreign language with a CELTA and have six years of teaching experience in person and online. I combine my experience in teaching and theatre to work on building your skills and confidence in English communication, pronunciation and accents.
I have a first-class degree in languages from the University of Toronto. I have completed the UCL Summer Course in English Phonetics and also the Knight Thompson Speech Work: Actor's Accent Toolkit. I have also completed the Teach Pronunciation Course from Pronunciation Studio and I am a member of the IPA (International Phonetic Association).
I used the SSB (Standard Southern British) accent as a standard in my courses.
